I started off my career in professional football playing for Glasgow Rangers, Philadelphia Fury ( USA ) and Leicester City. Having to retire at age just twenty, I studied Computer Studies and Systems Analysis at the now University Of Central England graduating in 1983.

In the mid 80s I developed an interest in the martial arts, specifically aikido, and this led me into studying Traditional Acupuncture in 1987 at the College Of Traditional Acupuncture in Leamington Spa graduating in 1990. But not longer that I badly damaged my back which, when I recovered, gave me an incentive for studying osteopathy as it was the only thing that helped me.

I studied at Oxford School Of Osteopathy and graduated in 1993. I established a practice in my home town of East Kilbride and the coastal town of Prestwick in Scotland and happily work away.

However, in 2006 my mum died of a brain tumour and her treatment left us all distraught. There was nothing to offer. Over the subsequent years the brain became an intense focus of study for me. But not through mainstream medicine. I was to discover that functional medicine and functional neurology had far more to offer brain based health issues. So off I went to the USA for intense but hugely rewarding post graduate study programs.

So I've been in osteopathic medicine now for more than thirty years. Anyone in any profession for that length of time develops a certain way, their own way, of doing things. Over the years it has evolved into what it is now and I would say that it has given considerable help to more than 90% of my patients.
